Sue (Gordon) Downin is a Greencastle, PA native but currently lives in Waynesboro, PA and is retired from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) after 31 years of service. While at FEMA, Sue was the Executive Producer for two Federal video training networks and was also the TV Studio Manager for many years. During this time Sue received two Meritorious Service Awards and more than 140 national awards for her work. After seeing firsthand the damage caused by natural and man-made disasters, Sue decided to use her creative talent to capture the “beauty” of nature. So in 2008 she began to study photography at Hagerstown Community College and has taken all the classes offered there. Sue is a member of the Adams County Arts Council; Franklin County Arts Alliance; Antietam Photographic Society; and is a member of the Destination Arts Steering Committee. Sue is also a member of the Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve where she likes to spend time walking the trails and capturing the beauty of nature.
